Not sure which garments fit your crew?

HVAC technician wearing custom branded workwear uniform in Washington for branding

HVAC Uniforms Built for Washington Service Crews

Your technicians work in two settings in one day. At 9:00 a.m., they stand in a customer’s living room. By 11:00 a.m., they crawl through a tight space. The uniform has to handle both.

HVAC is one of the trades we outfit under our Washington construction and safety apparel work. Here is what your crew needs on the job.

Customer-facing Service Calls

Customers judge your company before the technician says a word. A clean polo with your logo and the tech’s name tells homeowners and property managers who showed up. That builds trust at the door.

Attics, Crawlspaces and Field Work

Install and service techs bend, crawl and lift all day. Choose stretchy, fast-drying fabrics for movement. Garments get washed often, so stitching and decoration need to survive weekly laundry.

Cold, Wet and Changing Conditions

Western Washington service calls start cold and often finish wet. Crews layer a base shirt, a hoodie or fleece, and a jacket for outdoor work. Put your logo on every layer so the crew looks matched in every season.

What Should an HVAC Uniform Include?

Start with the garments below. Match each one to the job and to the right decoration method.

hvac work shirts

HVAC Work Shirts

Work shirts take the most wear. Choose a breathable, durable fabric for install and service techs. Your logo and technician names go on the chest or sleeve. Sticking with one style keeps sizes and colors simple on every reorder.

Embroidered Polo shirt for corporate teams

Polos and Customer-facing Uniforms

Embroidered polos suit service managers, sales techs and office staff. They look polished in a customer’s home and at the front desk. We carry Nike and Port Authority polos, among other tested brands.

hvac embroidered jacket

Jackets and Cold-Weather Layers

A branded jacket is the first thing a customer sees on a rainy day. Pick one with room for a base layer underneath. Browse our custom embroidered work jackets, including styles for HVAC contractors.

Hats, Beanies and Accessories

Caps and beanies carry your logo all year. They are an easy add-on to a first order. We embroider them on the same machines as your shirts and jackets.

Which Decoration Method Works Best for HVAC Uniforms?

Most HVAC owners know which garments they want. Few know whether to embroider or print. Here is the short version.

branded custom polo shirts for golf clubs, and corporate teams

Embroidery for Polos, Jackets and Professional Workwear

Embroidery lasts longer than printing on most garments. The thread becomes part of the fabric, so it does not crack or peel. It suits polos, jackets, hoodies, caps and technician names.

We stitch on Tajima TMAR-KC machines: 8 heads, 15 needles per head, 1,100 RPM. See our custom embroidery services for workwear.

custom printed hi vis clothing

Screen Printing for Bulk Shirts and Applicable Hi-Vis Apparel

Screen printing gives bold color on cotton at larger quantities. It is the usual choice for big runs of crew t-shirts. Our screen printing for Washington workwear also covers Hi-Vis garments.

Collection of different fabric types including cotton, polyester, and leather all printed with the same DTF transfer.

DTF for Performance and Mixed-fabric Garments

Direct-to-film (DTF) printing puts your design on film, then heat-transfers it to the garment. It handles full-color logos and detailed art. Learn how DTF transfer printing works for performance and blended fabrics.

Build A Consistent HVAC Uniform Program

A uniform program means every tech wears the same approved garments, colors and logo. It keeps ordering simple for whoever handles it, often the owner or office manager. You own the garments you buy. We sell. We don’t rent.

See how we handle custom workwear sourcing and decoration for bulk crew orders.

Standardize Garments by Role

HVAC uniform program by role
Role Garment direction Decoration
Residential service technician Embroidered polo or work shirt Embroidery
Installation technician Performance work shirt DTF or print
Service manager Polo or polished jacket Embroidery
Commercial technician Durable workwear and safety apparel Matched to garment
Office and estimating staff Branded polo or soft-shell jacket Embroidery
New hires Same approved garments Saved artwork

Pick one logo version and one color set. We match thread colors to your brand, with Pantone thread matching when your logo needs it. Placement stays the same on every garment.

Names on the chest let homeowners greet your tech by name. We add them to polos, work shirts and jackets as part of your order. Send a name list with sizes.

We keep your approved artwork on file. When you hire, send us the size and garment. We repeat the same setup, so new hires match the crew.

HVAC Safety Apparel and Washington Jobsite Requirements

Not every HVAC job calls for safety apparel. Some do, especially on commercial and construction sites. Check the job’s requirements first.

When Hi-Vis Apparel is Appropriate

Hi-Vis shirts and vests fit techs who work near moving vehicles, active construction or low-light areas. Your general contractor or site safety lead sets the rule. Our guide to Hi-Vis workwear requirements in Washington explains ANSI Class 2 and Class 3.

Why garment certification matters

Some HVAC tasks require specialized protective clothing, depending on the hazard and the job’s requirements. Flame-resistant and arc-rated clothing are two examples. The garment’s certification label and product documentation show what it covers.

Match decoration to the certified garment

Tell us the garment and class first. We match the decoration method to it and confirm on your proof before production. Browse custom Hi-Vis shirts and vests with your logo.

⚠️ CHECK FIRST: Verify the job’s safety requirements before you pick garments. We decorate certified garments. We do not certify them.

How to Order Custom HVAC Uniforms from Northwest Custom Apparel

Ordering takes four steps. Most HVAC owners finish step one in a single phone call.

1. Tell Us About Your Crew

Send your headcount, roles, garments, sizes and deadline. Include your logo file if you have one. No file? Our art team helps.

2. Choose Garments and Decoration

We recommend a garment and a method for each role. We send a physical sample before the full run, so you see the stitching first.

3. Approve the Proof

You get a digital proof before production. Nothing runs until you approve it. If the finished order misses the approved proof, we reprint it at no cost.

4. We Produce, You Reorder

We decorate everything in-house in Milton, WA. Your approved artwork stays on file, so reorders start from the same setup.

See the 5-step custom apparel order process for the full timeline.

Exceptional prices and great customer service. My work had us come in here to try on some jackets and hats. Noticed they make embroided patches too! Very nice quality products

We have used Northwest Customs for 2-3 years now at Special Services Landscaping for hats, hoodies and uniforms. We have used the embroidery and the heat press and both have lasted and are stuff we still use today. Great company couldn’t recommend more.

Unacceptable service and zero accountability. From one small business to another. We are incredibly disappointed with our experience here. I placed a large order worth over $1,200.00 for custom gear. This company already had our official logo and color specifications on hand, so there was absolutely no reason for this mistake. Despite having the correct assets, they completely messed up the final product. When they dropped us the product our Rep even stated... Oh this is wrong, don't worry you don't have to pay for the stitching. We asked what about our damaged gear? She said there is nothing they can do. So when we reached out to resolve the issue, management refused to take responsibility and flatly stated there was "nothing they could do." It is completely wrong that they ruined our gear and our hard-earned money for a botched order and then offer zero solutions. Save your money and take your business elsewhere. They obviously do not stand behind their work and have zero regard for customer service.

We use NW custom for our program, their embroidery done in-house is very well done, identical to the proof of concept. The response time is great when making adjustments to the e-store or when working through third parties for patches. I’d recommend them for any size program!

Yes, we add technician names to polos, work shirts and jackets. Send a name list with sizes when you order. We set the placement on your proof, and you approve it before production.

Layer a breathable base shirt, a hoodie or fleece, and a jacket for wet calls. Keep logo placement consistent across layers. The crew then looks matched through every season.
