Custom Embroidered Beanies

Custom embroidered beanies for work and business

Custom embroidered beanies are knit hats with your business logo stitched into the fabric with thread. The logo sits in the knit instead of on top of it, so it does not peel or crack.

Stitched logos hold up to regular washing. Crews wear them daily from fall through spring.

Contractors, HVAC and landscaping teams, auto-service shops, schools, and clubs order embroidered beanies from us. Office managers order them for employee gifts and client thank-you packs. Event planners order them for staff and giveaways.

Every beanie order includes:

In-house stitching at our Milton, WA facility
A digital proof for your approval before production
Style and color guidance from a real person
A quote within one business day
A reprint at no cost if the order does not match your approved proof

Choose the right beanie style for your team

The right beanie depends on where your team works and how much room your logo needs. Here is how the four most common styles compare.

Beanie style comparison

Style Best for Embroidery area Typical use
Cuffed knit or watch cap Crews and field teams Front of the cuff, widest flat area Job sites, winter uniforms
Slouch or lightweight knit Casual teams and gifts Smaller, depends on stretch Events, giveaways
Fleece-lined Cold, wet outdoor work Cuff area, varies by style Winter field work
Recycled-material Brands with sustainability goals Varies by product Corporate gifts

Logo space depends on the exact style and knit. We confirm the stitch area before you approve a proof.

Cuffed and watch-cap beanies

Cuffed and watch-cap beanies

Cuffed beanies give your logo the most room. The folded cuff makes a flat band of fabric, and we stitch the logo on the front of it. This style suits crews well.

Slouch and lightweight knit beanies

Slouch and lightweight knit beanies

Slouch beanies have more stretch and no cuff. Logo space is smaller, so we recommend short names or a simple icon. Send us your artwork and we will tell you what fits.

Fleece-lined and performance beanies

Fleece-lined beanies add an inner layer for cold, wet job sites. We list lining and fabric details only from the manufacturer’s specifications. Ask us for the spec sheet on any style.
Recycled-material beanies with patch logo

Recycled-material beanies

Some beanies use recycled yarn. We confirm the material content with the manufacturer before we quote it, so you never receive a claim we cannot back up.

Still comparing shapes and fabrics? Our guide to the types of beanies shows how each one fits and wears.

How logo embroidery works on knit beanies

Knit fabric stretches and has gaps between its loops. Stitching a clean logo on it takes planning before the machine starts. We run every beanie on our Tajima TMAR-KC machines, the same equipment behind our custom embroidery services. Each machine head holds 15 thread colors at once.

"Group of joyful people celebrating, with superimposed images of various beanies and mittens showcasing different logos, prominently featuring a black beanie with 'Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum - Fairbanks Alaska' logo, all under the 'NW Custom Apparel' banner

Digitizing turns your logo file into stitch instructions for the machine. Our art director, Steve Deland, has 40+ years of experience doing this. Thin lines and tiny letters often need a small redesign to stitch cleanly.

Send us the file you have and we will tell you what it needs. Our team handles logo embroidery digitizing for you. Digitizing is free on embroidery reorders.

Most beanie logos sit on the front of the cuff. Pick a thread color with strong contrast, such as white on navy or black on safety orange. We match thread to your brand colors, including Pantone references.

Wider logos need a taller cuff. We recommend a size at the proof stage, before any stitching starts.

Knit loops shift under the needle. Two materials keep the stitching in place. A stabilizer is a backing sheet that holds the fabric still. A water-soluble topper is a thin film on top. It stops stitches from sinking into the knit and rinses away after.

We also set stitch density to match the knit. Stitches packed too tight pucker the beanie. Stitches spaced too loose let gaps show. For a plain-language overview of the craft, read this overview of the technique.

What logos and designs work best on beanies?

Beanie fabric has limited flat space and a lot of texture. Simple artwork reads best.

Logo suitability on knit beanies

Design element Works well Needs a change
Lettering Bold block letters at a readable height Thin script or very small text
Shapes Solid, simple shapes Fine lines and gradients
Thread colors A few high-contrast colors Many close shades
Layout Fits the cuff width Wide horizontal layouts

Simple logos and lettering

Clear shapes and bold lettering stitch cleanly on knit. A company name with one icon is a strong fit. We resize the artwork to the cuff so every letter stays readable.

Detailed logos and alternative decoration

Detailed crests, fine taglines, and photo-style art lose sharpness in knit. We simplify the design or suggest a custom embroidered patch instead. A patch keeps fine detail intact and attaches to the beanie.

Beanie brands and product options

We curate our beanie selection instead of listing every option. Each style is chosen for how it wears and how it takes embroidery.

Workwear and everyday beanies

Our selection includes workwear and everyday brands such as Carhartt and Port Authority.

Our main blank suppliers, SanMar and Alpha Broder, sit within 10 miles of our shop. We pull blank beanies from their inventory the same day. Need a structured hat for the same crew? See our custom embroidered caps.

Match the product to your budget and use

✔️ Outdoor crews: cuffed or fleece-lined knit
✔️ Office gifts: soft lightweight knit in brand colors
✔️ Large giveaway runs: a simple knit at an entry price
✔️ Mixed teams: one style in a few colors

Tell us your budget and how the team wears the beanies. We recommend a style and give you an honest answer on cost.

Custom beanie embroidery pricing and minimums

We quote each order, since price depends on the beanie, your logo, and your quantity. Here is what moves the number.

What affects the price?

How bulk orders affect the per-piece cost

Larger orders lower the price per beanie, since setup is spread across more pieces. When you compare quotes, match the garment, stitch count, and placement. Two quotes only compare fairly with the same specs. Our custom apparel pricing guide walks through each cost factor.

Minimum Quantities and Small-order Fees

Minimum order for embroidered beanies is 8 pieces. Orders below the minimum carry a $50 under-minimum charge. Need fewer? Call us and we will go over your options.

How to order custom embroidered beanies

Ordering takes three steps.

1. Choose Styles and Quantities

Pick a style from the table above and tell us how many you need. Not sure? We recommend a style based on your logo and work conditions.

2. Submit Your Logo and Approve the Proof

Send your logo with your quote request. We digitize it and email a digital proof. Approve it or ask for changes before we stitch.

3. Confirm Production Timing and Delivery

Production starts after approval. Standard turnaround is 10 business days from sample approval. Rush service is available for a 25% surcharge. Pick up in Milton or have your order shipped.

Exceptional prices and great customer service. My work had us come in here to try on some jackets and hats. Noticed they make embroided patches too! Very nice quality products

We have used Northwest Customs for 2-3 years now at Special Services Landscaping for hats, hoodies and uniforms. We have used the embroidery and the heat press and both have lasted and are stuff we still use today. Great company couldn’t recommend more.

Unacceptable service and zero accountability. From one small business to another. We are incredibly disappointed with our experience here. I placed a large order worth over $1,200.00 for custom gear. This company already had our official logo and color specifications on hand, so there was absolutely no reason for this mistake. Despite having the correct assets, they completely messed up the final product. When they dropped us the product our Rep even stated... Oh this is wrong, don't worry you don't have to pay for the stitching. We asked what about our damaged gear? She said there is nothing they can do. So when we reached out to resolve the issue, management refused to take responsibility and flatly stated there was "nothing they could do." It is completely wrong that they ruined our gear and our hard-earned money for a botched order and then offer zero solutions. Save your money and take your business elsewhere. They obviously do not stand behind their work and have zero regard for customer service.

We use NW custom for our program, their embroidery done in-house is very well done, identical to the proof of concept. The response time is great when making adjustments to the e-store or when working through third parties for patches. I’d recommend them for any size program!
